GREENFIELD --- Two people are facing charges after they were caught breaking into a Greenfield home and living in it for four days.

Xavier Davis, 23, of Milwaukee and Quannesha Rimmer, 25, of Lafayette, Indiana are accused of breaking into a home in the 3100 block of West Coldspring Road.

On Sunday, May 13 the property owner – who was not living at the residence at the time --  was mowing the lawn and noticed the back window was open.

He then went inside the house and discovered that the back door was unlocked and it looked like someone was living in the house. The owner looked in his bedroom and saw that a shotgun and rifle were missing. He later discovered that someone also had moved these items to the basement.

He told police no one had permission to live inside this home.

The next day, the property owner called the police again when he saw someone walking through his yard.

Police went back to the home and arrested the two suspects.

During their interview with police, Davis admitted that he was living at the home for four days. He said he moved the guns inside the home  because “he wanted to look at them.” Davis also admitted to stealing foreign money inside the home.

Rimmer told police that the two were staying at the home because they were “homeless.” She also admitted to cashing a check worth $221.50 inside the home.

They both have been charged with “criminal trespass” and “theft (value not exceeding $2,500.)
