MOUNT PLEASANT -- A Mount Pleasant Department of Public Works employee has died after he was struck by a car Monday afternoon.
The worker has been identified as Daniel Huck, 61, from Racine, Wisconsin.
Mount Pleasant Police said a 55-year-old Mount Pleasant woman hit Huck near Green Bay Road and Shirley Avenue at 1 p.m.
Huck was taken to the hospital via helicopter and was listed in critical condition. He later died that evening.
Police said Huck was outside his truck and was wearing his reflective clothing when the collision happened.
The driver cooperated with police and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
Huck worked for the Village of Mount Pleasant for 22 years.
