MILWAUKEE -- A teen is recovering after gunfire erupts inside a restaurant on the city’s south side.

Milwaukee Police say a 15-year-old boy was shot by a known suspect at the McDonald's on Cesar Chavez Dr.

The suspect has been arrested. The circumstances that led up to the shooting are still being investigated.

The teen's injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Luis Quinones lives nearby and used to go to the restaurant -- hearing about the shooting makes him very upset.

"You know it sucks," Quinones said. "I got two kids, I got a daughter and a son, so I can't imagine that happening to my child, it sucks. I hope they're doing good."

James Fairbanks says he eats here at least once a week, he's surprised because there's always armed security at the restaurant.

"It's a really good McDonald's, the security guards are always there, all the time," said Fairbanks.

After investigators were done canvassing the scene around a dozen employees were allowed to go back inside to grab their things. The McDonalds' did close early because of the shooting.
