A 41-year-old former teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student at a Kenosha high school.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office took Douglas Richmond into custody on Thursday.

He's accused of having the sexual relationship between 2009-2010 when he was a teacher at Tremper High School. One of the sexual encounters allegedly happened in Racine County, according to investigators.

Richmond is charged with one count of sexual assault by a teacher or volunteer who works with children.

Racine investigators say Richmond had a warrant for his arrest through the Kenosha Police Department for the same circumstances.

Richmond appeared in court Friday, but after his appearance, detectives say they learned of another student victim at Kenosha's Indian Trail High School, where Richmond also used to teach in 2011. He now faces charges in relation to that incident.

Richmond no longer teaches at the Kenosha Unified School District, but was last employed at the Fox River Christian Church in the music and IT departments, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 262-636-3367.
