MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke could serve well in Donald Trump's administration but "it all depends on what area."

Walker was asked Friday about whether he thinks Clarke is qualified for a law enforcement-related post in Trump's administration. Clarke met with Trump in New York last week.
Walker says naming Clarke as head of the Department of Homeland Security is "certainly one option" as is serving as an adviser on terrorist-related activities working directly with White House staff.

Walker says he knows there's interest in Clarke but "I don't know exactly what they're thinking about."

Clarke's tenure as sheriff has been marked with controversy, including his public silence on four deaths since April at the Milwaukee County jail.
