A mother of three is being taken off life support after being struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk the night before Thanksgiving. The driver of the car that hit her, took off.

Peggy Cetnarowski was crossing at a four-way intersection at Mitchell Street and Beloit Road when she was struck. A neighbor found her and called 911.

"She didn't deserve this, it's not fair," said Donna Tipton, Peggy's older sister. "She'd help anyone. She was the person you called in the middle of the night if you needed something."

That's why getting a call about Peggy in the middle of the night was such a nightmare.

"Waking up to a call at two in the morning on Thanksgiving, saying your sister was found run-over in the street, is something I can't even really describe," Donna said. "I had no words."

Police are searching for the driver, but so far, there have been very few leads.

"We want them to do the right thing and come forward," Donna said. "It's frustrating, baffling and seems impossible. How can there just be nothing? Somebody has to know something."

As they search for answers and say a final goodbye to Peggy, they're making sure to do something she would have loved.  Peggy will be saving lives as an organ donor.

"She was so kind, loving and caring," Donna said. "She would have wanted to be able to give something to someone. Despite the fact that this is a huge tragedy for her kids and us as a family, we're hoping that through the organ donation program, that we can find some comfort knowing that we helped Peggy give the gift of life to someone else."

If you know or saw anything, you are urged to call West Milwaukee Police. Peggy's family has raised $3,500 as a reward for anyone who can help get an arrest and conviction in this case.
