MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin fourth and eighth grade students are scoring better than the national average on science tests known as the nation's report card.
Results released Wednesday show that Wisconsin students' scores are statistically unchanged in 2015 from the last time the science test was given in 2011.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress was given to students in fourth and eighth grade last year.
In 2011, only eighth-graders were tested. Fourth-graders were lasted tested in 2009.
Wisconsin's scores were statistically unchanged in 2015 from the previous time both grades were tested.
African-American students in Wisconsin in both fourth and eighth grades under performed students nationally. Asian students in fourth grade in Wisconsin scored lower than their peers nationally.
All other subgroups either outperformed or were the same as national averages.
